Alternative battery tube for JetBeam C-LE

I've had this little light for some time and really like it's size, user interface, brightness levels, modes & run time... but I have discovered the threads wear out on the battery tube to the point of being a really loose fit (it received a lot of use) :(

Luckily for me I purchased a backup tube at the same time, what I really would like to ask my fellow flash-a-holics is... are there any alternative battery tubes with compatible threading? I've seen AA extension tubes on DX that look they'd fit the bill but I wasn't really sure, what I had in mind was a longer tube which I could mod with a momentary clicky OR an extension AA housing with a clicky already fitted ;)

Any suggestions or comments welcomed?

There were at least two versions of the C-LE; a fine threaded one and a course threaded one. You should post which you have.

The fine threaded (the first one, from all the group buys) works with the Fenix P1 body. I know, it's a CR123 body, but it's something...

No help on an alternate tube, however, if your fear is the head unscrewing, you could try replacing the o-ring with a tighter one.

You coudl also try to contact Jetbeam to see if the sell replacement tubes.

I use two of these now on my bike helmet - one facing forward with a white emitter and one facing backward with a red Cree emitter. I would like to add a switch to make these easier to switch to strobe mode.

AFAIK it's the former thread option possibly from a 'group buy' thankfully (as already stated) I've got a 'spare' tube but with a different finish, great light I just would like to find a way to alter it's format somewhat :D

Thanks for the suggestion chimo but it's more like the tube's thread is worn down/out not merely loose, at DX's prices I may just make a stab-in-the-dark purchase as I've got to get some other stuff from them anyway ;)

Pity I'm not a DIY machinist or I'd knock something up :sigh:
