Alternative Searchlight Option for Xenon Arc Lamp

Hi All!

First time posting to the forum so excuse any formatting issues.

I'm searching for alternative search light options where xenon arc lamps would typically be used. I'm fairly new to lighting so forgive any ignorance of mine. The application would be as follows.

Light range: 1500 ft
Light at target: 100 ft candles or higher
Target size: 60 ft
Power: Supplied by Generator. Size not an issue.
Run time: 12 hours a day for several months.
Special requirements: No flicker in high speed camera applications. Weather proof.

Overall, the objective is to continuously light a 60 ft (diameter) target at approximately 1500 ft at 100 ft candles. The main purpose of the light is for high speed imagery applications.

I haven't had any luck finding anything that gets close to meeting the requirements beyond xenon arc lamps. Arc lamps are not ideal for a large number of reasons and locating lights closer comes with a lot of drawbacks as well.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

That's around 225 million candlepower and 285k lumens delivered to the target, with a 2.5 degree beam if you want to keep the light on the target. That sort of performance is the domain of multi kW arc lamps and big reflectors - no other source packs the same sort of lumen density as an arc lamp.

That's kind of what I figured since the only light used in similar applications was the old AN/TVS 3. I was hoping to find new/emerging technology that might get close to it. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
