'nuff said. That's one written off copper blank right there.

At least this time the broken bit didn't go through my finger...

Anyway I'm angry that I didn't realize it was blunt earlier because it was drilling really, really badly. I'm so ignorant sometimes.

I'll take it 🙂

Well technically it's still usable for the traditional 7135 based drop-ins because the bit has snapped off below the lip the driver sits on. So long as you position the driver to the bit doesn't stop the driver from seating flush it's still perfectly good. The LED cavity on the other side is untouched. Actually if I drill the hole elsewhere it's still perfect for a Lux-RC board too. All is definitely not lost!

Norm if you want it PM me an offer..going cheap lol. I'll even drill the Lux-RC hole for you (if I get it right this time lol).

Can I send my 5 drill indexes to you so that you can find my dull ones? I tend to use one, then put it back with the others, so I have no idea which ones are worn. 🙁

The solution was to buy more when they were on sale.

Copper? Does not look like any copper I have ever seen 🙂

Yeah PCC has it right - they are silver electroplated. They've tarnished a bit so don't let the easy to use, aluminum appearing exterior fool you!

Haha that's exactly what I've done here. Except it didn't occur to me what the problem was until the drill bit got stuck and snapped a second time. I put the dodgy bit back with the good bit, so I just grabbed the first one my fingers touched. In hind sight I should have realised it was blunt the last time I used it because it got stuck then as well. Except that time I managed to get it out.
