Just gauging interest at this stage but would many (or any) UK Flashaholics be interested in a meet up somewhere a bit more central in England?

London has it's own meet ups it seems, but London is a bit off-putting for many for travel, not to mention that out in the countryside there's less light pollution so I thought there might be interest in meeting in a more rural area for some discussion of, and playing with torches :D

If you're interested please state whereabouts you are in the UK and maybe we can work out a more pleasant to travel to meet up for the rest of us.

The Wife and I are in Mitcham, Surrey, but if a more central / countryside meetup coincided with us being on hols from work (as long as it was planned well in advance), and there's a decent campsite and good walking nearby (let's say a meetup somewhere in the Peak District?) then we might be persuaded that camping in that area and attending a meetup locally would be a fun thing to do :D

I'm up for a meeting anywhere! Though I don't think my body is quite up to hiking the Peak District for torches.

I am based in London, but can easily do South East or midlands - I have family all over UK - Sussex, Bedfordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire and Snowdonia.

Certainly camping seems a good easy way to accommodate most for this type of thing.

Yes, actually Harlech might be good - great beaches and nice pubs.

However it has to be said - the roads in North Wales are very twisty and slow - it took me about nine hours to get there last time I went from London! Maybe too extreme - keep it Central.

Oh sure, I wasn't suggesting Snowdonia for a meet up. I don't think there'd be many takers for that!

I just meant that it must be handy having relatives up there when you fancied heading out for some hiking at night with your lights up Snowdon.

I'm in Worcestershire - so pretty much in the middle of the country. Up for just a meet up or camping, other commitments permitting.

Pete

I'm interested if I can get there. I've been up snowdon a few of times, one of which was at night doing the 3 peaks challenge. I don't own a car at the moment though so that could be a problem.

Dunno if it is possible for a mid-week meet. I'm trying I get the Londoners together on July 9. But from July 4-9 I will be in Sheffield. I'm not familiar with the surrounding area but if any of you want to meet up I'm happy to show off the ridiculous collection of surefires I'm bringing across the pond.
