Hello,

Just my thoughts on the E2e. I got 2 in the mail today (A00796,A02354), SF has very fast shipping, ordered Tue, got it Thurs.

1. The Pyrex lens makes it worth buying an E2e, even if you have an E2. The light is whiter and has a wider spot and surround as well. There was a very faint black dot in the center of the E2 hotspot, perfectly smooth and round on the E2e (no dot whatsoever). If I didn't know better, I'd say it was 65lm not 60.

2. I personally don't like the Hex style head, makes the light bulky looking. I liked the smooth look. The Hex head "tough" look is good for Tac lights, not on an EDC light. Adds a bit of width where the "points" stick out.

3. Lockout tailcap is great. Adds a tad bit of length, neglegible.

4. Hate the clip. It's too small and way to strong. With the E2 I was able to just push it down and clip it in my back pocket. With this one, it's too hard. I have to work at lifting the clip with my finger to get it to clip onto soft Docker type pants.

If I had to choose, I'd get the E2e because the Pyrex lens. If it wasn't for that I would definitely stick with the E2. I hope they make an E2 with Pyrex, that would be the Perfect EDC light for me. Just my opinion on the E2 and E2e.

Great review

. Just enough to tide me over until Monday when mine better be here

How does the clip work once it is on your pants/belt? Have you tried taking the clip out and bending it a little to make it easier to use?

Clip sucks. Here is the solution: M2 clip.Figure it out yourself

Works great.

I was just eyeing the clip on the M2! Having the M2 in one hand and the E2e in the other. If I had a third hand I'd be scratching my head! I think I'll try it tonight if I can figure out how to take the darn clip off without scratching the light.

Bucky, I thought about stretching the clip out but then it would lose it's tension and might become loose. It just needs to be a bit softer and it would be fine, like the clip on the M2. You think I'm kidding you, the E2e clip hurts my finger just to open it a bit, my Docker pocket will last a few weeks before fraying. Might be ok with jeans.

The E2e clip will instantly destroy your nice leather belt. Did I say it was very tight and stiff? Should work fine on nylon belts. I just put a gash on my $35 leather belt, won't do that again.....thanks Bucky for encouraging me to try

I took the clip off the E2e.

What do you guys think of the beam.

I find the outer corona to be quite large. I measured the beam at 4 1/2 feet (an inch or two either way) and the beam was 11 feet wide. The hotspot was the same size as the P61 in the G2. I went walking around tonight and found the wide beam to be a great walking light. This beam is more diffuse than my 8AX.

Just a few observations.

The surround beam is now near perfect size. I had trouble using the E2 as a walk light in near darkness because of the lack of surround light. The E2e has plenty of that now. And mine is a bit defused as well, softer, whiter light than the E2.

I just took the clip off as well. The clip on my M2 won't budge so I can't try it out as of yet. I think I'll carry the E2e in a holster or just in my pocket without the clip for now.

A little suggestion:

Carefully remove the Bezel o-ring before removing the pocketclip.

Me personally, I prefer the M2 Clip on the E2e but note that it doesn't really work on the E1e.
I don't have HA Exe's in Millennium Grey but scratching is a minor concern.

To remove the clip from the M2, I just forced the clip against a hard surface until it came out of the attach point... There are other ways...

Hmm,

I'll have to try that. Thanks for the suggestion Al. The clip on the E2e came out easily and I quickly realized to remove the O-Ring, uh well the clip kind of did it for me when it came off and I spent the next 2 minutes looking for it on my carpet since it flew a few feet. Why is it that when something falls on carpet it bounces like 20 feet away in a direction that you never think is possible and ends up hiding behind a trash can or something?

Anyway, I'll keep working to get the M2 clip off.

I know, it's so annoying. Must be Murphy's Law or something.

. This room`s riddled with them- probably a result of the interaction of the EM fields generated by my plasma glowy things. I`ll drop something and it`ll promptly vanish. No amount of searching will find it, no matter where I look. Then, later on, there it is- right in front of me in a place I`d looked before numerous times.

The only explanation I can come up with is that it got temporarily sucked up in a Quantum fissure, and was later returned when I wasn`t looking.

Is that the "Peter Principle", or the Devil's first law of perversity? For sure it's gotta be one of the principal reasons why four letter words were invented

Yosh,
take off the head and O ring. Stand the M2 body on its open, head end. Put a piece of round metal stuff, like a thin screwdriver blade through the clip, resting on the sharp U bend near the clip housing.
Push down firmly - watch out so's you don't trap your fingers, avoid the M2 body suddenly tilting, and don't cut yourself on the end of the screwdriver.

I have a piece of flat section metal set aside for just this task.
