Help me out folks.
Check this out and tell me what you think.

Did I cover all bases for the layman?
Did I use too many pics?
Am I just plain nuts thinking people still want these things?

Should I mention there that this is a reversible mod (It is now)? Or should I glue the bezel on?

The listing LOOKS nice, but it takes around 3.5 to 4 minutes to load at 56K.
Some of the pictures could be compressed to reduce their file size.

Hey Gadget-
"Darth Vader, your flashlight is ready!"

Gotta love it.

Your description looks good.Hope you get Big bucks!

Makes me wish I'd purchased the (4) 6 cell units my local wal mart had on closeout for $7.50 each a couple of months ago.

Now, do one with 2 LS modules!

When you going to make a light saber? I'll bid on that for sure! (unless Craig has his megajoule pulsed laser on ebay at the same time.) That would be a hard choice to make.

Good bidding!

Craig,
good point! I hadn't even thought of that!

I'll reset compression and reload them.

I did, now they total 180K. Could you try it again?

Thanks!

Silviron,
Thanks. I hope I get ANY bids! The guy who was selling them before had his last two go unbid.

So, Gadget, what did you end up with in the way of run time on this baby?

Would you say it is significantly brighter than my Trek 19?

I may bid on it

Much better this time.
After flushing the cache, the whole page (including all of e-bay's content) came up in about 1 minute.

Looks like you got a bid too.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Free,
I haven't done a runtime on it yet. I don't really have any setup to measure brightness.
It draws 860 ma on fresh batteries, and has 5700 mah to pull from. Using Brock's rule of thumb for runtime, 1/2 to 2/3 of capacity, I get 4.4 hours of full brightness.

Xenon,
Nope, stock 2D Mag with fresh batts.

Craig,
1 minute, huh? I may still go back and compress a bit more. Thanks for checking the load time again.

Gadget,

I'm curious, how does this compare to the light output using the standard bulb in the DB?

Good question.
smile.gif

I just pulled another DB out and fired it up against the Mag I used in the pics. The DB has a whiter, but not much brighter spot. It's spot is two stage, bright center, smooth white corona. The Mag just has that perfectly focused spot.

So, compared to the LED, the original bulb is a little brighter and focusable. The DB focused to area light has many radial and circular bright spots, not nearly as smooth or bright as the LED DB.

If you really want, I'll take some pics and post them.
wink.gif

Are you planning on doing any more conversions with the DB's you have left?

Yeah, I bought 4 at a local farm supply store with the sole intent of making LED eBay lights of them.
wink.gif

So, I have 3 left.
Due to the cost of LEDs and the time to make it, I pretty much have to sell one, then build one. Rinse and repeat.

Good Grief Gadget! If my math is anywhere near being in the right ballpark, you're making a huge, whopping $13 or so on each flashlight! At that hourly wage, you could starve!
wink.gif

Don't you just wish profit margins were equally low on all flashlights?

You're going to make someone very proud of their new toy ... I mean, tool.
