This is a 5 cell (plus one dummy cell) Nimh 4/5A 2000mAh battery pack. I built it out of a 7 cell airsoft nun chuck battery pack which I got cheap from ebay. It was a straightforward build and the end contacts were the only parts that required soldering. The battery contacts are made from a steel biscuit tin and bits of red and black card so that the charging magnets stick to it. I'm using the team orion IQ605 model charger at 2 A.

This pack drives the MN21 bulb at roughly the same output as the stock 9V li primary pack. The MN21 is way overdriven on 2 x li-ion or 6 x Nimh, so I figured 5 x NiMh was the way to go. Runs for about 15mins. There are more powerful and longer running mods out there e.g. 1185 w/3X17670 but I like the beam pattern of the MN21. It gives a nice diffuse round circle. Also there's no sudden cutout with a NiMh pack.

I think you meant 4/5A (D=17mm, L=43mm)
Bundle of tri 4/5A
F (D=18mm, L=43mm) will not fit in standard M6 body.

A similar mode were made by 6 Li-ion 17500 (2S/3P) and each cell is about size of (D=17mm, L=51mm)
here.
However, as you mentioned, 7.4 V output will severely overdrive MN21 and for same reason, WA1111 would perform better.

The seller labeled them as 4/5AF but they are 17mm diameter so I guess they are if fact 4/5A.

thanks

I've put the pack through 10 charge/discharge cycles and the capacity seems to have leveled out around 1800mAh. Not too far off advertised capacity.
