Any Better Ideas?

End cap push button switch won't shut off sometimes (or turn back on sometimes) on my single AA cell one mode "tactical" light. I use it to shine and dispatch varmints (4 legged) digging up my yard at night. I bought several of these lights a few years ago and they worked so well I bought several more. UNFORTUNATELY those turned out to be 3 mode lights and are useless for my purpose.

So…question is, are these lights at Amazon a reasonably good choice? They look identical to the ones I originally bought, but different brand name.

Cost is up 33% from when I bought, but I'm saving up!

Here's what I need:

  • Narrow throw
  • One mode (turn on/off only)
  • Bright to 50 yds. 14500 battery usually sufficient---run time not an issue
  • Flashlight diameter ~ 1in (I'm using a magnetic mount under rifle bbl)
  • Cost is a consideration but the above works

A Pelican 2350 can be programmed to high only by half pressing the tailcap something like 7 times and full press and hold on number 8. It could be 4, or 6, I forget. But it's a really sturdy light for about $25.
