Any Current Commercial Lights with Tritium?

Are there any commercial torches currently on sale that have tritium vials?

I doubt it, at least in the U.S. Tritium is highly regulated and many hurdles would have to be jumped and dollars spent to get approval for use in flashlights. That is if it can be done at all.

What would prevent meprolight or any of the other tritium sight manufactures from making a flashlight?
I wonder. Or anybody licensing their technology for use in a flashlight?

Maybe Orb is too small to be considered commercial, but they as you may already know sell lights with tritium options.

Regulation and sale depends on the amount. You can buy tritium vials here on CPF:

*Tritium/hydrogen vials which sold here ratio for sure less than 1:1000 so they are not regulated. And only for individuals who buy small amounts of vials for personal use.
*For companies who want to import large amounts, please kindly apply to be "licensed by the NRC" before you import them to USA.

Besides, apparently the hoops were not insurmountable for Luminox and Traser.

would like to renew this thread to see if there are any currrent commercial lights available that have tritum vials included... noticed alot on here but i understand most are custom and there seems to be a lack of them still about..

How bright is the typical tritium-powered flashlight? 1 lumen? I've seen tritium used to power watch dials, but that's pretty dim compared to what someone would want from a flashlight. Unless you can get at least 0.1 lumens from a small flashlight, I don't see the purpose. And it dims by 50% every 12 years, so I think I'd want to start a little higher.

The tritium serves as a locator, not as the primary light source.

here's a little creation of mine:devil:

Mini Mag with a Trit sphere. Nice LOW LOW LOW LOW LOW.... can navigate in pure darkness and can easily read with it in bed with dark adapted vision.

Some fresh charged gitd stuff got more output than trits. Then after a min or two, the trits are brighter. Pretty dim stuff, but nice as a locator. Only non custom production light i know of using trits, is the tiny new dqg spy.
