I really like this light except for the /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eeew.gif yellow beam of the standard incandescent bulb. Are there any drop in LED conversions for this light? I know there are several for the Maglite, which I also have, but I don't like turning the head all the time to turn on a light every time- I'd rather press a tail switch and have the beam already focused where I need it.

Sandwich from Dat2Zip or lambda drop in can fit into Brinkmann 2AA. You can select luxeon type by useage want.

More questions:
1. Where can I get one of these?
2. How much are they?
3. Does the mod allow the light to retain the focus function?

You can use the Kroll switch in your MiniMags too. You might want to get some AR Coated lenses too, so that your lenses don't get all scratched up. It will save you some shipping fees if you buy them when you order your Sandwich.

The Brinkmann is my personal choice, too. Some don't like the switch, but it is very functional - it is designed to be self cleaning. If you left the light sitting around for a long time and the components in the switch corroded, operating the switch several times will clean the contacts. Some have commented that it can break if the light is dropped. True, but just give Brinkmann a call and they'll send you a new switch.

As Krit said, the standard drop ins fit the Brinkmann, too. In addition, I'll mention the MJLED from Lamba. Do a search and read up on it. It's not nearly as bright as the luxeon mods, but it's a very nice usable upgrade and very inexpensive - $6-$10 (LED or kit). I'm ordering more.

Brinkmann tail switch is dramage easily from long time use. I use kroll switch and cut of some thread to adapt of brinkmann's cap.
