Any experience with the Doug Ritter eQ?

It's a typical unregulated coin cell headlamp.

Basically, light output drops to 50% in about the first 15 minutes, then tapers off slowly from there. Not much better than an unregulated 3AAA headlamp.

Yes, I have one. Basically, it's a good headlamp to use when scrounging around to find a better headlamp. :)

I like the lens/bezel. Looks like it has little rocket fins around the edge.
They do not name the LED as Nichia. Wonder whats inside?

I think the Petzl e+ coin cell light is an better headlamp to help you find and change batteries in your really great headlamps. It has high, low and red and red or white flashing modes and a nice switch and lockout.

lol, thanks

I think the whole idea of that light is to make one as small and light as possible. They say it's less than one ounce. You'd do better with a Zebralight if you can find a reliable one (I seem to have had very bad luck with them but apparently others are doing better).

I had a very similar looking one from one of the well known Chinese suppliers (cant remember from which one).
A Photon Freedom on a headband does a better job, IMHO

He generally endorses quality products, but this... I think he tries to keep things affordable as to appeal to the masses.

You can get the same exact thing at WalMart for $5. Anything with Doug Ritter's name on it is just the same thing you can buy in a camping section, but pay 2-3 times more for it.
