Re: TK40 (Fenix): Anyone handle it at Shot or otherwise?

Not true, the LF5 XT's reflector doesn't produce any donut hole, even up to a close distance of about 2 inches.

Moot point. If you're gonna be using a light for THAT close, which you're not with a light as big and as bright as the TK40, you're better off using a bare, unprojected emitter.

Re: TK40 (Fenix): Anyone handle it at Shot or otherwise?

I have five words to describe the TK40, based on what has been said.

I AM GOING TO BUY THIS.

Post #47/48 has that video, on a non-translated page.

Like I said. I did not read through all posts. I am sorry if posting up the link again inconvenienced anyone. It was not my intention to step on any ones toes. Gary

Re: TK40 (Fenix): Anyone handle it at Shot or otherwise?

The Youtube video from the SHOT show haha.

I'm an equal fan of Fenix and SureFire. I own both and can't recommend one without recommended the other.

When they compared 150+ lumen lights to the 6PL I did laugh.

If only they tested against the E2DL, just for ships and giggles.

Edit** WHOA WHOA watch the Youtube video..

Did Fenix put their "remote switch" on a 6PL or does Fenix now have some secret light that looks just like it? Why wouldn't they put it on one of their own lights.. Please tell me someone caught this.

They were comparing lights of the same price range. Even then, lights such as the TK20 and TK11 are STILL cheaper than the 6PL.

What do you mean?

Fenix has now remote switch that works with all TK series flashlights. They've tried it with Fenix TK11 R2 on the video...

Hi everybody,

for sure, this

is not the Fenix TK40! But what is it? Is it another member of the TK-Series that is yet available? Or is it maybe the "missing link", the TK30?

Thank you for any info you can give!

Bye,

Stephan

It looked like the guy picked the 6PL back up. I was confused.

No in-light charging, and why does Turbo start at 200 lumens?

Wow, I've been waiting for something like this from Fenix, especially the 700+ lumen version.

I wish the Turbo mode (head tightened, first click) went straight to 600-700 lumens rather than some weird 200 lumen intermediate level. It would be much more useful, especially for tactical blinding. Plus, why change the interface from what's been standard on all of your other digital multi-level lights? Ugh.

The other feature that would be awesome is in-light recharging of nimh batteries. I'd definitely pay extra for that rather than needing to swap them out to charge them, and you could always have the option to do that if you wanted to carry extra sets of batteries. It would also make it a really legitimate choice for cycling (it's difficult to remove batteries from a mounted light).

Any official line on when we can order or pre-order one of these beasts?

This may sound silly, and be impossible electronically (I don't know), but it would be cool if this light could use 2D alks in a pinch, at a very (comparatively) low output level, say, 50 lumens. It would be able to be used as an emergency light as well as a tac blaster.

I am a big AA fan these days. In fact I will only buy AA lights so this is the BEST news I could have hoped for!!!

I know they will be a PITA to charge but the flexibility is great. I can't wait 😛

8x nimh is not bad, IF they are hooked up in series. I have a charger that can charge up to 14 nimh cells in series, but I just need to find a holder for 8 cells.
