Next year, that leaves only a 12 month margin of error, do you think they can manage it?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">That's a pretty tall order for SureFire, but a team of crack(ed) executives have issused a statement of an 'indefinite possibility' that the A2 will ship 'at some point in the next year', with a strictly detrmined price; 'unless it's changed, of course......'

-But don't hold them to that, it's only an opinion, after all.....

Mr. Ted Bear said next year. I believe SF is closed next week for year end inventory so perhaps the shipping dept is not a shipping dept until next year.

So what's the story about the "porcupine"?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">As I recall, PK said it is for the Japanese market. My guess is liability issues will keep it from seeing domestic exposure. I wonder if a TID has been tooled up yet for the A2.

Will a TID fit the A2? The 'flat' part of the Bezel may not be long enough... I'm sure they'll find a way though.

I saw some publically released shots of the porcupine floating around somewhere.

Indeed, the Porcupine is not intended for distribution here in the USA; I suppose there is no way to stop someone from buying it in Japan, and carrying it back to the USA... the problem is that SureFires are double the price in Japan.

When will the A2's be available? I know that there is one issue to be resolved (exactly what the issue is, I don't know). Anyways, it's something that can happen at any moment, and that SF was trying for the first week in December...

As Don has mentioned, SF is closed till after the 1st. Maybe SF has resolved the issue by now, and maybe the A2 will be avialable next week?

Just guessing on my part

Al,

From the pic's, it looks like there is about 5 mm of flat beyond the lens cap on the bezel. The set screws could land here but the skirt of the TID may overlap the "rocket boost" flare in the bezel.
