any olight fans?

I like the form factor and the UI of the s1r and s2r batons but I don't like playing the tint lottery so I don't think I'll be getting another olight till they come out with a high cri nw version of the s1r or s2r (yeah I know, I'm dreaming lol). I did get lucky with my s1r cw, it's a nice white. I don't mind the batteries. If I had to replace them ever few years then I wouldn't like it but I probably won't need to replace one for a very long time

The only thing I like about them is the look. But the tint, the color temperature, the low CRI, the proprietary charging and their marketing strategies are all off-putting. Lucky I only bought four i3es and a copper i5t before I realized there is better stuff out there.

I have a couple, an old S10 (neutral tint) and the tint is awful. The OBulbs are pretty cool and I have a Warrior Mini that I like, wasn't impressed with the Warrior 2 Mini. It would be nice to see some 4-5000K tints.

Not buying them as long as they play the proprietary battery game. Also dont like their marketing/branding. In some ways Olight is (or wants to be) the Apple of flashlights, not the most sympathetic of companies. I find most of their products to be more toys then serious tools. I dont think they really specify tint/cri either, which is a no-go.

I'm not completely an Olight fan-boy, or the most sophisticated Lux-keteer, (shown by my odd love of modern Maglights…) but I will vouch for Olight feeling like you get your money's worth. I have several, M2R Pro Warrior, Perun Mini, Baton 3, i5R eos, Baldr Mini, as well as several i1r 2's that I have on all my keys and give to family members when ever I get a free one with my order.

Things I like:
1. Batteries do last a very long time, for both years of service and light output.
2. The custom batteries are high quality, protected and tuned for the output of the flashlight. Due to several bad experiences with off the shelf li-ions, OEM spec from a credibly manufacturer is the only way I will use them any more. IMO if you are concerned with having to replace a battery in the field, pony up for the OEM battery or get a light that can down grade to alkalines in a pinch. The I5R comes with a li-ion but can take a AA at 1/2 the light output.
3. Build quality and durability are very good. None of my lights have ever malfunctions from a fall, water, or for any other reason.
4. Magnetic charger is fast and reliable and comes in several mounting options.
5. My buddy has personally proven the longevity of his light. He "stranded" himself in Scotland for the last 8 months and only brought his S1R Barton 2 because he thought he was coming home in a month. This has been his only flashlight for every task including hiking, house repair, hunting, automotive and machinery repair, as well as tackling emergencies in inclement weather. Before that it was his EDC for over a year and not handled with kid gloves, and it's even still on the original battery!
6. Customer support, at least through the online chat, is very good. I've had somebody pick up the chat and fix my issues with the website or ordering even after midnight Eastern standard time
7. Everything goes on sale at some point! And after you buy a few flashlights from them you get put on a list to get first access to new products coming out, and you usually get them at sale price before the public gets them at full price. I save this one for last because it's also annoying if you really want to buy some thing and there's no sale going on because you know it's gonna go on sale after you buy it lol.

Things I don't like:
1: light color between flashlights is inconsistent, doesn't usually bother me too much as long as it's not too blue or green. I prefer warmer colors but I'm not a color snob at all (My M2R is almost too green for my taste but I don't notice it after a few minutes of use.
2. While the magnetic chargers work really well, there are several different types that all look the same. 1 amp, 2.2 Amp I think there's even a five amp, and then a special one for the weapon lights with reverse polarity and a reverse polarity magnet to keep it from working with the other flashlights. And they all look the same! You have to read the back of them to know which one it is. For the most part the regular flashlight chargers are interchangeable with each other but it would be nice to have some sort of quick distinguishing mark or color to know what you're picking up in a drawer full of chargers.
3. Certain accessories are constantly out of stock, like extra pocket clips or certain charging accessories. I've actually never had a clip break so I don't need to buy one but I just always see them sold out on the website. You have to get them quickly when they come in stock

That's just my 2¢, take it for what it's worth and ask me any questions you may have!

its crazy i payed 4 bucks a piece for normal 21700 cells that can do like 20 amps and 4500 mah. olights cells are like22 bucks

I've been happy with mine and the one time I had a problem, they were quick to fix it.

I do own a few of their lights
All of them are pre 2016, so they're all using standard cr123/16340/18650. No complaints on my side regrding the proprietary batteris.
Some of them do show a greenish tint, but some others display a more neutral one.
In any case, you don't purchase Olight lights for their tint (there are brands that are better in that aspect (Zebralight, Eagletac...).
You mainly get them because they're durable (check out torture tests videos on youtube).

Durable maybe, but of the 7 olights I bought in 2017 they no longer make or sell the proprietary batteries for 4 of them. Making in light charging an impossibility once my current batteries start to fail.

I'm actually a big fan of Olight, despite working with and collecting flashlights from numerous other brands. To date I've had the X9R Marauder, Marauder 2 , Javelot Turbo, Warrior X Pro and Turbo, all of the titanium and copper Warrior Minis, Perun, Seeker 2, S1R Baton II, and probably about 20 of the cheap small ones. It is a bit annoying they mostly use proprietary parts, but I think this is more than made up for considering the qualify they give you. Basically if you're new to flashlight collecting and want one good light an Olight is a solid option. If you can afford to branch out onto other brands as well such as Imalent (I've had the MS18 and MS03), Lumintop, Fenix, Streamlight, and all the customs I highly recommend you do so.

I'm a fan-ish of Olights. Never had any problems with them and like the simple magnetic charging concept. And I've found them to be great for gifting. People that are not into flashlights like we are seem to really like the simple charging. No need to buy a separate charger. I have never had to replace a battery yet...maybe someday I will and then I might have some regrets. But they seem to be easily found on Ebay as of now...

I have a couple older ones I really like: (both are 3x18650)
- SR52UT - XP-L HI V3
- SR MINI II 2015 - 3x XM-L2

But I'll NEVER buy one that requires a custom battery

I have about 300 of them. So, yes I like them -- but I carry an FW3A. :)

FWIW, I don't undertsand why everyone complains about cell prices. They do come with one installed. I can't think of the last time I had to replace one. You want extra cells to swap for long use -- you have the wrong flashlight. The Olight charging systems make it easy to keep fully charged.

BTW, they all will run on standard cells, even a CR123A for the S1Rs. Just cannot charge.
