I haven't found any useful reviews of the most current SC13a.

The Amazon descriptions don't include the emitter type. Sofirn's website says Nico's 519a 5000k, but I would like independent verification.

How does this version perform compared to previous versions?

Thanks.

I didn't have either version, but checking out Sofirn's website and the product page leads me to think there's only 1 version SC13A and that's with a 519A, especially when they compare it's specs to both the SST-40 and 519A SC13 variants and only show 519A for the SC13A.

That's my perception, as well.

I wonder if this one can be set to have the light in the switch on all of the time?

can be set to have the light in the switch on
yes

you can also see the button light is on in these photos

here is a video showing Anduril in Action

Do you already have some experience with Anduril?

The SC13a is similar to the Sofirn SC21 Pro, but with a bigger battery, and shorter thicker body.. They both have Anduril w illuminated sideswitches, USB charging, and tailmagnets.

Thanks.

My main EDC is a Wurkkos TS21 with anduril. I very much like that light. Too bad that it's discontinued.

I went ahead and ordered an SC13a.

I may end up ordering an SC21 Pro sometime soon, as well. It might be a better option for hat brim use than the SC13a

I hope you enjoy it.. ;-)

for a hatbrim, I think the SC13a has advantages.

I think the optic on the SC13 is more suited to hatbrim use at close range, because the beam is more diffused (this is a warmer 519a than the stock LED color temperature, but the beam is representative):

than the reflector hotspot of the SC21 Pro.

The LED in the SC13a is not as greenish as the LED in the SC21 Pro

And I think the clip on the SC13a is easier to slide over a hat brim..

btw, these lights use Anduril 2.. it is slightly different in a few ways, than Anduril 1 you use now. Hopefully you wont mind.
