Anybody ever used a \"Laser Straight\"?

I found the "Laser Straight" at Wallgreens this morning. It's the one shown on TV commercials. I bought it specifically to add to my website, but since I'm not a carpenter and I don't play one on TV or on the internet, I'm hoping I don't leave something really, really important out of my evaluation.

Anjybody ever used one of these?
And if so, how well do you think it performed?

The website is at https://www.drdynamics.com/products/laser/?tag=1026 if anybody is interested.

I've seen them about, same principle as a laser level (not laser dumpy level, which is stationary and rotates).

Black and decker have these "laser straights" like products on a range of their power tools. I find it funny, "just follow the laser...." and its attached to the tool, so when you move it, the laser moves too.

Don't they have some new one for your handheld saw that "lays a straight beam for you to cut!" or something?

I wouldn't trust it, because when you follow the line, you could be going all over the place, because its not anchored.

I'm a carpenter, first you mark the wood with a pencil or chalk-line,then the laser (which is attached to the saw with the saw's blade bolt) shows if your tracking the line or going off!

Leadlight makes a green laser level, but it only does vertical lines. You set it on the floor and a line appears on the floor, up the nearest wall and even across the ceiling. It's pretty cool, but I think most people want horizontal lines.

Good grief - there's a bit of post-production in that clip if ever I saw it! Or maybe they're putting 200mw ruby lasers in them.

I can't zoom in to read the crappy video disclaimer.
How exactly does it manage to go around corners?
