Anybody modded the Nuwai HLX-712L headlamp?

I've had this great head for awhile now and never thought to mod it. Nor so I have experience in modding.

I'm very tempted to upgrade it to a seoul led. However, I'm not sure how to go about it with this headlamp.

I took my headlamp apart today and it was pretty straight forward. However, the star seems to be stuck on a heatsink. Is the heatsink also stuck to the plastic casing of the headlamp?

How would I get the star off the heatsink? Do I need to glue it back on afterwards?

Has anybody done this before? It seems like a great candidate for seoul led since it runs flat regulation on high for 5 hours. With this upgrade, I assume I could just use medium or low for 11 to 22hours!

not exactly modding threads, since theres only a few threads that really discuss it, im sure, however, theres some info within them that might be useful to your experimentation.

Wish I could find one of these Nuwai headlamps at a Canadian dealer. The only place I could find them is at amondo and shipping/border taxes make it a tad too much for me.

If anyone knows where in Canada I could find one, please let us know. I would love to mod one to a Seoul.
