Anyone edc a surefire?

Yes, I have the current (gen 6) 519a LED in cool white.
I quite like it :) .
They claim 420 lumens but that must be on li-ion 3.7v. It looks more like 200-250 to me on 1xcr123. It's definitely not a thrower!

The fact that mine is the gen 6 version suggests there's been 5 less successful versions previously. Perhaps you have one of these earlier versions or maybe we have different tastes.
I also like the stock Incan bulb but battery life is poor in this configuration and the output is relatively low.
I have the cool white 519a so the same one as you. There's definitely nothing wrong with mine. It's just extremely floody. Nothing wrong if that's what you like. As far as battery life and output, I'm quite happy with both. But I have a two cell light. If you're only using an E1E, I could definitely see the downside

I do like floody lights.
Output from the 2 cell Incan E series is fantastic. 60+ lumens with great colour rendition. Before they went to LED the lights were the perfect size too.
I'm guessing you still edc the E2e in your avatar pic?

I like the E2E for its size and how it fits my hand. I used a LF drop in with warm high CRI 519A drop in. I de-domed it out of boredom and it became a really nice rosy tint, but a bit too warm. I ordered a 5700K 519A drop in from Tana with the possibility of de-doming that one for a more suitable all-around tint. Still waiting for Tana to catch up on his orders.

I do quite often. And yes it is. Also like to edc an a2 aviator

How did the dedoming go? I've been hesitant to dedome mine as it's not like I can replace the led if something goes wrong. I have dedomed a few 519a already, just not the e1-led yet

Agree, curious on any changes to beam characteristics for the E series reflector when dedomed.

It wasn't bad. I use the "Cheule" technique as he posted on YouTube.

The central hotspot becomes slightly more intense, tint is (of course) warmer, also becomes a bit more rosy. Interestingly, Tana explained the shallow reflector only focuses the outer rim of the LED output so most of it remains mule-like flood.

EDC2 DFT here..
I've been thinking about getting one of those, how do you like it?

Been carrying an e series for the last 25 years or so, I love 'em.

I like it a lot.. many reviews online if you are undecided.

I have two.. one in black the other natural HA.

I've had a Surefire in my pocket almost daily for about 20 years. Carried a Malkoff bodyguard for a few years on an SF body, but went back to SF when the EDC L1T came out.

My most carried started with E2e, then L4, E1b, EB1, now EDC L1T. The gas pedal is perfect, both functionally and in terms of reliability. I hope they never change it.

When done right, it's perfect. I have a SureFire EDCL2-T going back 6 years ago where the tailcap is hard as a rock! Ironically the one on my SureFire Tactician is perfect.

My dad carried an E2e from around 2004 until 2012 or so, replaced it with a Jetbeam single CR123 cell light until it finally failed earlier this year and is now carrying an EDCL1-T that I got him.

As for myself I still occasionally carry an LX2, U2, UM2, or a classic A2 Aviator if I'm feelin' classy.
