pretty sure its made and described in china and then translated to english just read this and tell me if anything sounds weird in the description "Adjustable focus and exchantable Xenon light bulb"
I agree with Mossyoaks posts. Most every time I buy something it seems I am always stuck making the following decision:
1. Best price.
2. Best quality.
3. Best service.
Pick two. And in those really bad situations, I can only pick one!
Well, im sure at least a few of you will have this light in yoru hands before i get my tax return so i'll be looking for real reviews /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
It'll probably be next week before most folks receive their lights.....especially if they paid for Ground shipping like I did! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The "Big Brown Truck of Joy" dropped off a packege at my front door this morning!
That's a L4 with the Xenon Force
The color is a greenish-gold and will scratch with some effort. It has a clickly switch the activates upon RELEASE of the switch.
The light uses a smooth reflector and has a pronounced ring on the outside of the beam. The bulb is a bi-pin with a inverted "V" shaped filiment.
The threads operate smoothly with no feeling of grit in the threads. Both ends of the light have o-rings, so the light should be weather resistant.
Th holster has two unique features...two belt loops..one that is sewn in and one that snaps shut. It has also has two safety straps...one "hook and loop" and a strap with a snap that goes over the "hook and loop". Very secure.
Thanks for the pix and details. Looks like a great light to get someone as a present. I love my friends, but spending $100 for a flashlight as a gift would be outrageous, but this looks like it would be great in that capacity.
By the way....the body of the light does not feel like it was machined out of a billet of Al....the over all feel of the light is "smooth" with no sharp edges. I'm not a machinest, but I'd guess that this is investment casting.
Thank you for putting out for this light Roy. It does look like a nice light but I won't be buying one. I want to get a SureFire L4 before I get anything else. I don't have one and I want a SUREFIRE!!!! (no, I don't own a single SF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif )
I got my 3 today, and only 1 had a half way decent beam. Upon further inspection 2 of the bulbs had there filaments way off center. Luckily the 3 spare bulbs I ordered were centered fine. I put WriteRight on the lens and next to a 60 lumen e2e the beams look almost identical. Larry.
Got mine today. I'd say it's worth the money, if for nothing more than the belt case fits my A2 pretty well. As Larry said, the light pattern is horrible, but if you twist the bezel you can make it serviceable. It's a beater that will go in on of my tool boxes. Weirdest thing about it is it smells funny. Not bad, just a strange smell. Probably from sitting in customs in SF from China for too long.

At that price, why not get a Scorpion, Spyder, or Maxfire?

These cost $25 now, not the original $16. The Maxfire costs $20 (without holster) and has a nice beam without any tampering needed. That's one reason. I'm very pleased with my Maxfire rechargeable. Isn't the spyder also < $25?
BatterySpace is now selling the same light with a 7.2 volt bulb, 4 rechargable 123's with charger for $ 39.95. Kinda wish I would have waited, seems like a good deal. link
