anyone giving flashlights as Valentine day gifts?

Does your wife/girlfriend/partner really appreciate such a gift or is this like giving her a power tool on valentine's day?

now you people are getting me worried - maybe I need to buy something else (or extra) before tonight??

depends on who the lucky recipient is...

If they really are into these things, then it's a good idea. If they aren't, then it's about as valuable as giving them an eveready $1 light.

I went with flowers, chocolate, a book, and *ahem*...an engagement ring.

To put it gently, a flashlight is a d00d's gift. Jewelry is a chick's gift.

Better haul yer black arse to a pawn shop right quick and get something flashy, or else

Amen brother. Me too.

Zig, congrats...now that's a gift. Welcome to the club. I think today is one of the top two days of the year for proposing....the other is X-mas.

I think the real question should be, is anyone getting a flashlight as a valentines day gift?

I have given flashlights to all my wives for valentines day...needless to say I`m alone and single now.

gosh - it's like getting a cold shower - no, make that, it's like jumping into a frozen lake! brrrrrr.....

glad I raised this topic, clearly I need to take emergency action here - anyone want to buy a cheap Fenix L1D CE? (this is a joke, obviously, since the mods are likely to drop in and fine me for posting this in the wrong subforum or somethin!)

I'm getting a light, as soon as I figure out which one I want (see my Fenix v. Rexlight thread). I was supposed to have figured it out several days ago and order it already. But, I haven't even figured it out yet since all these new Crees keep coming out, seems like everyday a new one. I would not give my wife a flashlight unless it was included along with other gifts, especially for V-day.

I am! (Fenix L1D CE).

Me too.

I was discussing with my wife a month or so ago the new emitters that were coming out, and the "competition" between the 3 manufacturers (Fenix, JetBeam, and Rexlight).

She said "So when are you ordering them?" I told her that I had posted in the Rexlight interest thread that I would be getting at least one, probably two, and maybe three.

She said "Is the second one for me?" :naughty:

It's good to be married to a budding flashaholic. :grin2:

But I hedged my bet with a dozen roses, some chocolates, a nice card and we're going out to dinner tonight.  :duck: :twak:

So, how did it go???? I also gave out an engagement ring today, I didn't bother with the flowers, chocolate, etc, I figure diamonds should be enough!

OH, and NO FLASHLIGHT! That could just get me hurt!

For the guys who gave out Engagement rings you should have put it around a Fenix and put it in a Fenix box. The look on her face would be priceless when she finds the ring, going from steaming burning red to blushing like a school girl followed by her appologizing for stuffing you face first into a garbage can.

Yea...thats an idea...they could have used the light to examine the ring...that ought to sparkel.

hahahaha - Too funny, I had the L1D-CE out and sparkling the diamond for her after less than a minute! She loves it, can't wait to see the sparkles all around the room tonight!
