Anyone know about classic vintage air rifles?

says sheridan products c9 series pellet pump rifle but its the stainless steel version

the silver streak (nickel) version goes for a few-several hundred dollars in great condition. The value drops off pretty quickly if it isn't in "great" condition tho'. Ppl ask for the higher dollars when they are selling, but they won't sell if they're overpriced. They made them right up until about 10 or 12 years ago.

fleabay and random sports shops that sell used guns have them for sale. You can peruse the interwebs to get a feel of what you have.

I think they've been around since before ww2 (I could be wrong about that tho)
My neighbor's kid had the c9 but the blue version...that's how I knew about this one. Otherwise, I hadn't heard of them before.

cool maybe i can trade it for a nice ruger 10/22 with scope
No. But anything is possible I guess. There are hard core collectors out there but they want museum level condition. It is a nice air rifle & looks to be in at least "good" shape. DO NOT FIRE THE THING WITHOUT A PELLET CHAMBERED !!! Does horrible things to pistons & seals, tho this kind of air gun much less damage than spring powered gun.

This has enough power fully charged to kill a person; IT IS NOT A TOY !!! Get a box of pellets, not BBs & shoot the thing. Nice thing about pump guns, 2 or 3 pumps lets you shoot inside using a bundle of 4" thick newspaper / magazines as a back stop with pretty much zero noise. 10 pumps, usually the max level that the seals can hold for anytime is enough for small game / pest control out to about 15yds with well placed shots.

If it's in good shape it should hit 600fps+ w/12g pellets & hit a dime every time if you do your part. Best groups usually will be had at 4-6 pumps. If you do try more than 10 pumps fire it immediately; it's not good for seals & usually adds little real improvement in FPS & usually gives you worse group sizes.

cool ill just keep it i think i always wanted one but i didn't. know what it was since the newer ones are called Benjermin finding pellets seem to be hard being 20 cal or what ever you call it lol

BTW --
I still remember (even after 55 Years),
the MAXIMUM number of Pumps
on my Sheridan .20 caliber Silver-Streak
is * SIX * ! ! !

And I never felt any need
to Exceed that !

mine needs a rebuild i think. and the pins wont come out going to get a better punch and try again

I have a .22 Benjamin like that. They are made by crossman now. My exhaust valve went bad in the chamber. Mack1 rebuilds them and hops them up a bit. Some are not accurate because of the paint overspray in the brass barrel, but you can put some paint thinner on a q-tip and get it out.

Remember there is special oil for these. Otherwise it can diesel possibly hurt you when the pump kicks back.
