Anyone out there have any exposure to an Optronics NightBlaster Triple LED HL-300 Headlamp ??

I am looking at making my own LED headlamp and noticed this one for $10. I can find ANY information on it other than that it has 3 LEDs. How many batteries, type ? Weight ? ratings ?

If anyone knows ANYTHING, please share it. Thanks.

BTW: Just purchased a Petzl Tikka for $35. It is 3 Nichia LED headlamp. THat's alot of $$ for a few dollars worth of parts. I am looking at making my own light weight one and may just start with cutting down the NightBlaster....

Yahoosier, does the Optronics Nightblaster Triple LED Headlamp look like this?

A little off topic, but if you're trying to make your own headlamp, you might consider the versalux unit from technology associates. (www.techass.com). I have one and it is BRIGHT! It is a ten led unit that comes with all the circuitry built in and it's regulated so you get fairly constant light output for 14+ hours on a few AA's. It takes a variety of power sources (3AA's, 4AA's, 5, 6, D-cells, C-cells, etc.etc.) It's pretty versatile....

and it's adjustable (dimmable)

Hi Velcro,

I believed the one you shown is not a LED light although it was produced by the same manufacturer who make the cliplight.

I know this is Headlamps Discussion, but would 'you 'orrible lot' feel more at home in the LED section?

Not that I want to get rid of you at all of course.

'nuff re-spec' to LEDs and all that,

Al

I should have got one of these for my girlfriend...
Do you think a long thin one like shown or a shorter, fat one would be better?

It's not often such devices are photographed. Perhaps this is the wrong forum for this sort of thing?

Atleast this thread is illuminating!
