Anyone remember the first dealer to sell Fenix lights?

I believe 4sevens set up the first group buys, and later set up Fenix-Store to facilitate the orders. This was back when the L1P was their ONLY light, and was the first 1xAA high power light from ANYONE.

Yup, the good old days. And back then, I promptly dismissed Fenix because they weren't Pelican, Arc, Surefire, Princeton Tec
Thanks. I'm trying to see if I can find the thread
In my opinion, the L1P is the light that sparked the Chinese/East Asian flashlight boom

Hey, great thread !

:twothumbs

All of this happened the year before i joined CPF.

Missed it by that much !

Wow, all that excitement over 40 Lumens

Amazing how far and fast this hobby has evolved. I signed onto CPF, but never really got into it until ~1-2 years after my join date.

When did they introduce the L1T (one of my fave lights)? Was it marketed as an enhanced version of the L1P?

As I recall the release sequence went L1+, L1, L1P, L2P, L0P, L1T/L2T, P1... and I don't remember if the E1 came before or after the P1.

It's funny... I have vivid memories of reading Quickbeam's reviews back in 2005/2006, but I have no recollection of any official marketing from Fenix until well after the Cree versions arrived.

Since it was based on a LuxIII, I always saw the L1T as an enhanced version of the L2P that happened to run on a single cell. The later L1S was the enhanced L1P.

.
David who .........

I want to know the significance of the 4Sevens logo , and where that came from ?
I understand about Aces & 8's .

No matter how many times you claim this, it still won't be true.
The Arc was sold as a 1xCR123 (designed to work as such) light with a 1xAA accessory tube, not as a production 1xAA light.

So unless there is another light of which you can enlighten me...

Peak shipped the Kino Bay 1AA Luxeon light in late June, 2005. I know that was before the L1P but not sure if it was the first. I think a company called TNC came out with a 1AA Luxeon before Peak, it has been years so... The downer about the Kino Bay was poor regulation.

My Fenix story is L1P--->L2D CE-->L1D RB100-->L2D Q5 The L1P was a great light back in 2005, a screaming R bin Luxeon punching 40 lumens was great. Ahhhh, the heady days of "BC" (Before Cree)

The Arc LS First Run (2001) and the first few revisions shipped with CR123A, 2AA and AA tubes. The 2AA and AA tubes were not optional accessories. The AA tubes were dropped when the version 2.0 circuit was introduced. You'll find Arc LS time lines detailed here on CPF and the LED Museum.

Gosh, let me think... there's the aforementioned Peak Kino Bay, TNC KeyLux, Maxlite, Fenix L1+, ... I imagine you could find a few more by checking the review dates at FlashlightReviews, LED Museum, etc.

Maybe you should try the forums Search features?

Well, let's take a look here.

The Arc LS circuit cut off at 1.4v, so I personally would not call that a 1xAA capable light, since 1xAA only "sorta" worked...

The TNC KeyLux was a custom product, not a production light...

I believe the Maxlite was also a custom product of very limited quantity...

And the Fenix L1 series is what we are talking about here, so...
