anyone see this light before? Opinions?

If you scan down the page past the watch straps etc, there's a torch that looks exactly like the first ARC AA prototypes with keychain lugs - alternatively they're exactly like CMG Infinity lights.

It says they are for armed forces.

40 Hrs runtime from 1 x AA? Mmmmmmmmm. Red or White LED......

Looks like a legit site. $22.......maybe next month!

Anyone tried them...?

Why would a Watch site sell torches.

Be lucky...

The single AA size battery will last approximately 40 hours of continuous use (try getting that kind of battery life from your current mini-flash light!)
That makes it an old infinity (not the Ultra which only runs 25 hours).
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/cmg_infinity2.htm
Overall output 0.58 = 0.8 lumens.

A current light say a L1D CE
Overall output 8.17 = 11.3 lumens for 25 hours to
Overall output 44.5 = 61.8 lumens for 1.5 hours.
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/fenix_l1dce-l2dce.htm

Now a L1D Q5 is ~1.5x brighter than the L1D CE.
So I estimate:
~16 lumens for 25 hours to
~90 lumens for 1.5 hours.

That is one dim light being sold (by todays standard).

I believe HP was part founder and part owner of Lumileds a long time ago. They sold out to Philips.

Got it. I didn't even know that HP made LEDs. Tread with caution on this one.

Hey guys. Yes sir, I am the real deal. I am a knife guy on several of the other forums... bladeforums, edcforums, etc. I am new to flashlights and saw that one I linked too. Figured if I was gonna ask anyone about flashlights... should be the experts. :naughty:

Thanks everyone. Seems like I should pass on this one? I was just liking the concept of something that could burn so long in such a small package.. and at a cheap price. I know some of you guys buy the big boy lights costing a pretty penny.. I just am not that dedicated to it flashlights... not yet anyways.

Look at the Fenix EO1 Oranges, $15 shipped, runs on a AAA for 20ish hrs. around 10 lumen.
Not all that bright but cheap and a long runtime.

Great! Thanks for the suggestion. Will definitely check it out. Is that a quality brand? Or is it a case of the 'you get what you pay for, but its cheap"?

It's a quality brand and they seem to be made really well for the price, lots of threads on here about them right now.
Unfortunatly it's not what I had hopped for, but still a nice light.

It appears to be a genuine Gerber Infinity, made FOR the military. If you know of the Gerber recon, there's a "civilian" version (made with foreign parts), and there's a military version, made of U.S. only parts. The military is not aloud to "issue" brand name stuff (they can procure it though), so when bulk purchases are made, they (the government) order them with-out the brand-name, and replace it with simple "U.S." or "U.S. Government". I actually saw these at the GSA mart in Korea...the ones on this sight are probably extra's that were sold through the Defense Ru-utilization and Marketing Office (DRMO...A.K.A. Government Surplus)...it's probably the real deal!!!

Looks like a GERBER once known as CMG. It's seems to be an alright deal if the web site is reputable. It's not a super deal though. Probably best to stick with the Fenix though, for the price the quality and warranty are great. And no I am not into any particular brand so I'm not saying this out of blind admiration of Fenix. JMHO

yap, looks really like the CMGs twisty head & the machined-off lanyard loop. good to know its still a sought after light that held its own after the years...
