If the light uses 5 D cells, that would account for the longer than expected run-time.
I spent more than that for a 5W LS flashlight on ebay in early spring, but I'm kinda broke now so somebody else will have to buy one of these and report their findings.

same host as the Elektrolumens' Tri-star except in 5D of course. i think Wayne even has one of these 5D's that he was messing around with
