Hi, anyone tried this? Is this a simple drop-in or is there other modifications and/or soldering involved?

Can I just buy the 1499, drop it in, buy the 2 X 14500, drop it in and turn it on?

Will 2 X 17500 work instead or will they be too long for the body?

How many torch lumens will this put out and for how long?

Very noob questions, I know, but I have a Nextstar coming and am wondering if this can be done.

Thanks for all the help..

17500 and 14500 are about the same length.

I'm totally unfamiliar with that flashlight, however, I can tell you that a 1499 draws too much power to be safely used on 2x14500s, and will melt most plastic reflectors.

runtime would be about 10-15 minutes on 14500s. after a few cycles I would be concerned about the safety of using the cells. On 17500s it would be fine and run for about 35 minutes or more.
