Re: Anyone use garment steamers instead of ironing
I use a cheapie Sunbeam steamer I got at Target pretty much every weekday. I use it to take wrinkles out of my suits before I return them to the closet, and to de-wrinkle my some fancy (i.e. non permanent press) shirts when they come out of the dryer.
Also use it when travelling to take out the "suitcase wrinkles".
I've found it a LOT faster than ironing, both in the actual labor and the time savings in setting up and putting away an ironing board and iron.
The only drawback is that it's pretty hard to put a crease in something. It's really a wrinkle-remover, but it will sharpen an existing crease pretty well.
One tip: Use only distilled water, it will make the unit last a lot longer.
Cheers,
Bob
