The ARC-AA has become my favorite ARC product. I got a pair of the, one I gave to a backpacker and the other I intend to use as my backpacking light to keep me off of my headlamp when it was not needed. I try my best not to use my backpacking gear around the house but it seems that I just can't keep from using it. I better pack it away in my backpacking closet so that I will not keep using it. I originally thought of having a mod done on it but the more I have used it, the more I like it just the way it is. For my purposes, I kinda wish I had one of the ones with the AAA type tail but I am happy enough with it the way it is. There are not many flat surfaces to stand a light when going off trail backpacking. Its a great light and the other plus is that everything I carry uses AA batteries, this is a big big big plus for me in that I have full battery compatability now, something I didn't have with the Arc-AAA

Have you tried lithium batteries yet?
ARC AA with AA Duracell alkaline = 1.75 ounces
ARC AA with AA lithium battery = 1.25 ounces
You might want to buy more of these /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My AA continues to impress me, it is brighter, lasts longer and in every respect, provides a great big brother for my AAA's which I'm still very pleased with and still EDC.

Folks at work are intrigued by the fit, finish and form factor. I consider this one a winner and hope that it did not pull Peter away from the LS4, LS5 projects too much.

My AA has replaced my AAA(given to wife) as my EDC.Berkley Mini-clip with 3" of chain suspends it in my front pocket suspended from my belt loop.I find it easier to turn on one handed especially for momentary light by pulling the head back. Filled the gap between the head and body with an O ring making it look much nicer.Great job PG well worth the wait. Nice sized spot with acrylic ball held against the front.

The ARC AA has replaced my Infinity Ultra as a "peek behind the computer to find the USB ports" light. My infinity has been recycled to house a 1W LS running off a homemade Zetex converter with 1 NiMH AA. It will be done as soon as I finish polishing the cut-down NX-05 optic. The ARC AA has more class, a better feel, and with a lithium cell, it's lighter.

Seems like a great idea. I'd love to see a pic of this, and perhaps with the specs / stock number of the O-ring you used. Thanks!
