Arc Flashlight is going out of business. I am sorry.

- The failure of the business was ultimately my responsibility because I was the president.
- People who are currently waiting for warranty service will be offered a refund if possible.
- Paypals sent for unfilled orders will be refunded.
- Back orders will be canceled.
- Credit card information will be deleted.
- We no longer have our parts, returned items, etc. All this was seized and is lost. We only managed to save some data. If you sent a light in for service, the best we can do at this point is refund your money until it runs out.
- The arcflashlight.com website will be changed to indicate the business is gone. After a week or so, it will then be pulled. This will affect the many images we posted here in the Arc forums.
- Banners will be pulled.
- Our phone numbers no longer work.
- Our shipping address no longer works.
- The business email account will stop working in less than a month.
- The rev3 upgrade for the Arc4 never made into production. The beta testers may keep the prototypes in their possesion. We have the source code but without the special hardware, we cannot service Arc4s in the field.
- If you have a problem with an Arc, we can try to help you over the next week although there is little we can do since we lost our tools, spare parts, shipping abilities, etc.
- We will try to make available online the FAQ, DYI maintenance and other help files.
- I may open source what technical data we have left on the product so the CPF community may be able to provide service for the over 20,000 Arcs in collectors hands across the world.
- This happened fairly suddenly and we were not as prepared as I would have liked.
- Our employees and us are looking for work.

Again, my apologies. It is difficult to honor our lifetime warranty when the company doesn't exist.

I am very sorry to hear this Peter. I don't know what to say, I'm speechless.

Seized by whom?

Peter

I am so sorry... I'll be praying for you and all your employees. Hope you can land on your feet and go on to help change the world in some other way... your ARC is my EDC, and probably will be for some time.

Take care.

Bruce

Holy Cow!!! A sad end to a revolutionary company. Peter, I wish you the best in your future endeavors.

I'm crestfallen Peter, and only hope the best for you and your employees. It was an awesome ride with you, and those are awesome products you put out.

Thank you once again, and prayers sent,
daloosh

I'm so sorry to hear news like this. My prayers for you and yours employees are sent. May God bless. I do love all my ARC lights, I EDC at least two of them.

thanks for giving us great products!

Damn! That sucks!

Now I must NEVER lose my ARC AAA (the only ARC product I have /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) as it has now become very nearly irreplaceable!

Wow, that was abrupt. My heartfelt condolences to you Peter, and everyone at Arc. It may be of limited comfort now, but know that you will always be able to reflect with pride on the many points of light that you spread out into the world. I have given out many many Arc AAAs to people I care about, and the lights have always served them well - and I expect that that is how it will be in the future.

OMG, I'm a newbie here and I always took for granted that Arc would be around even though I currently do not own any of your lights. I can't imagine coming to CPF and not go through the Arc forum each time. Sorry to hear about this news, Arc and Peter will be missed by CPF'ers.

This is sad, and I'm sure a truly gut-wrenching experience for Peter and Merri. Hang in there . . . keep your eyes on things above. We know you've done the best you can to take care of your fans and customers.

Chin up,

Dave

Peter, Merri, & all at ARC - I'm deeply saddened by this... In my experience, you set a standard for service & quality that's very rare these days. Best wishes on whatever comes next for you all.

I don't know what to say. ARC is so much a part of the flashlight community that it seemed impossible they could disappear just like that. I am very sorry to hear this and wish all the crew at ARC the best for the future and thank you for all the beautiful lights you have given us. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif
