Hi there, I thought i'd take a couple of pictures of my new Arc-LS.

The first one is a nice pic of the whole LS kit along with my Arc-LE.

The second one is a closeup of the 1AA battery holder - the knurling seems a bit different to the rest of the holders, it seems to have extra lines - is there a reason for this or was it a mistake? it doesn't bother me I was just wondering.

Thanks

Andy

P.S. I don't have a dell system I just have a dell keyboard (and dell flat panel monitor) that spacebar could do with a clean!

My single AA body appears to have same knurling as others. Can you post some beam shots? Do you have any violet tint in your beam?

The tint of the beam is fine for my liking, i think there's a tiny bit of violet/blue in the very center of one of the blobs but you can only see it if your looking long and hard at shining it on a white wall. I am a little red/green colour blind mind you.

Here's some beam pictures - take into account that the camera was at a slight angle in a couple of them so dont take the shape of the beam too seriously, also my camera can't focus properly in such conditions.

The beam is actually a lot warmer than those pictures suggest - I don't think my camera liked taking those pics much. And yes that is cobwebs and dirt on my ceiling!

Sure.

How about the LS with 1 AA battery compared against the LE.

Then do the same with the 123 instead of the single AA.

Thanks for the pics Cybersoga. How much warmer would you say your beam actually is?

Ok I changed my mind, those pictures are pretty accurate as to the colour - well the celing one atleast - the one on the wall had other light in the room. It's a lot warmer than a normal white LED, but not as warm as an normal incadecent light (which are too yellow for my liking). the colour is comparable to a "daylight simulation" bulb (an incadecent bulb with a blue filter), I think it's just right. The beam my LS throws out is very similar to prerelease one that craig tested - http://ledmuseum.home.att.net/ there are a couple of blobs of blueish-white light near the center of the beam but it's nothing as drastic as a normal white led, or the LED in my ARC-LE.

I was using the 2 AA battery pack for those pics, i've just picked up a CR123 battery and the brightness is pretty much the same if not a little bit brighter. I don't have any other multi-led lights to compare it to i'm afraid - my traiser 4led teknolight went back for a refund after a week of having it (first run faults), and i gave my photon microlight III to my brother - so that leaves me with my Arc LE and a couple of maglights of different sizes (which are now collecting dust) would you like a comparison between the LE and the LS?
