Looks like the ArcFlashlight website is down.

My server says it can't resolve the URL. Something about the host not found. Did Gransee change to a different address and not tell us? Or is he really so bombarded with orders that the server is crashing?

Will keep trying. Can't talk. Must place order.

I ordered mine Friday. Hope to get it soon. Craig's review pictures of light output were very impressive.

So....has anyone received any type of confirmation on their orders for the ARC???

I haven't. Should I be concerned????

You're going to love this light.
Even though it's not as bright as a brand spanking new Photon, the tests several of us have been running over the last couple of weeks should convince you.

They are fairly small, so don't just leave it lying around - it's easy to forget where you laid it and even easier for a jealous friend or co-worker to "borrow". Put it on your keys right away.
I've already misplaced mine under bags of LEDs and equipment I was using Sunday night. Doesn't take much.

Ok, there it is... phew.

Well, I got an immediate email confirmation of my order (received on Friday at 9:43am). I also got a shipping confirmation yesterday. Did you include your email address on your order?

I received mine today. I was foolish enough to buy three of them and pay the cost of a fourth just in over night Fed-Ex. The light output is as other people say. It's quite a bit brighter then the infinity, noticeably brighter then my pocket bright but not quite as bright as a new photon, IMO. Workmanship is quite good although just a notch below that of the infinity.

I was slightly disappointed in the packaging. It was sent in the regular standard Fed-Ex white cardboard envelope and they were allowed to rattle around loose inside. Not that it was in great danger of not surviving the trip, I think a either a bubble wrapped envelope or at least some bubble wrap or other padding inside this envelope would have been a bit more appropriate.

All and all I give it a thumbs up, it's a great concept.

Hi Geepondy, is the light output the same from light to light?

I was going to give the other two as gifts and never even thought to compare the light output between them but your question peaked my curiosity so I had to do a comparison. I'm glad I did! There is a noticeable difference in light output and characteristics between the three with one in particular. Brand new Duracell Ultras were used in all three. Two of them had a purplish light output with a slightly brighter center. Between the two, one was slightly but noticably brighter then the other. The third one had a very much more noticeable brighter output then either of the first two and was much more pure white in color. It almost seemed to lean a bit towards incadescent yellow but perhaps that was just my eyes being fooled, comparing it side by side with the more purple output lights. In addition this light output was much more even in nature without it appearing to be any brighter in the center. I then switched batteries between the three to make sure that wasn't deciding factor and it made no difference in the results.

Can anybody explain why there is such a difference in light output? Is this a normal characterisitics of the LEDs? If so then there was obviously no "hand selecting" of the LEDS in this batch.

Thanks for posting the question. The first one that I had opened was to be for myself and after the comparison, turned out to be the weakest one. I have now remedied the situation. My girlfriend being a non flashaholic will have to settle for number two in brightness. Needless to say, she will not be reading this forum.

I was afraid of this...when I was in Sarasota Florida...about a year ago at a flea market...there were several venders selling Pal lights...I played with about twenty...and there was a big differance in tint and light output...only three stood out...which I bought. I have played with 7 differant Infinity`s and found the same thing...one is much brighter, whiter...almost yellow, one is very sad...the others all fall somewhere inbetween...it seems the one`s with blue tints are not as bright...this is the reason I wish they would use "s" grouping in single LED light`s...you never know if you are getting a good one or fair, poor...unless you have the opertunity to compare several...one reviewer might get a good one and sing high praise...then when you get your`s you are left scrathing your head wondering why it was so highly rated.....

I think Glowbug explains on their site that a PAL Gold has the same LED and circuit as the regular PAL. It's just that they hand pick the highest performing LEDs from the batch for the Gold version. This would lead one to believe that any LED flashlight brand will have variations between units.

I beleive your right Ron...but it should not be that way...not when you are paying good money for a light. They should reject poor Quality LED`s and return them...or simply order the better grouping to begin with...I can understand this in a ten dollar light but when you pay more you should expect top quality...the Photons are suppose to use the best avalible...maybe thats why they are the standard by which all other single LED lights are compared and all things being equal...often win.

Keith, you were sent an email last Friday with a confirmation. In that email is a link to track your order. If you follow that link, you will notice that it has indeed shipped (It shipped with everyone else's).

The Photon is a great light! I personally haven't tested more than one at a time to see if they also have variations in color tint. Anyone else care to confirm this?

If the Photon doesn't have any variations and this is important to you, please buy the Photon.

When we order from Nichia, we always get the same lot of whites: "B" color and "R" brightness. Even so, there are variations in the tint and brightness- especially with the white because the phosphor adds more variation.

Incandescent is so much more uniform in tint, brightness and run time.

True, we could hand sort each LED we receive. It would be expensive (since Nichia would make us pay for shipping and restocking since technically there is nothing wrong with the part if it fits within a certain range). But even after all that there would still be at least some variation. Each white LED is like a snowflake and has a unique fingerprint.

You decide. We do strive to make a great product for a reasonable price. We guarantee you will absolutely LOVE your new Arc flashlight. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return the products within 30 days for an exchange or for a full refund of the purchase price.

Thanks for the INFO, looks like I must have screwed up my EMAIL in the hundred or so times I attempted to get my order in....(g)

Personally I've found photons and infinity's to be inconsistant in brightness and beam shape. I just figured it was the nature of the beast. I've had the same problems with flashlight bulbs too. Heck my 2 E2's have a variation in beam shape and brightness. The only things I can't differentiate are my twin boys (equally bright) and my wife and her twin sister (maybe its just more the twin fantasy thing there eg)....

Thanks, let me know how you like them.

Wow, two sets of twins in your life. How unusual. I bet it makes things interesting. Maybe "twin-ness" is inherited?

Thanks for your post.
