I was wondering if all 18650 batteries are rechargable? Only wondering because only some say rechargable on dealextreme but look the same as the others.

All 18650 Li-Ion batteries are rechargable.

Yes he is right.

18650 refers to the size of the battery. 16 mm around, 65 mm in length, and the last 0 means it's a circular battery.

The Li-Ion refers to the chemistry of the battery, what it's made of. Li-Ion (Lithium-Ion) is rechargeable.

So if you find an 18650 "Lithium" battery for instance, then it isn't according to it's label.

Just buy from AW and be done. High quality for not much more money is the best option.

The last 0 means it's a cylindrical battery. :poke:

And i totally agree on that AW statement.

Why bother with anything else ?

AW is the battery seller over at the MP. he is known on CPF as the one who provides the best cells (protected)

lol I couldn't think of it. I kept saying oval in my mind for some reason. Then I started thinking about football and went off to watch ESPN.

It was too late and too long of a day :)

Circular, cylindrical, oval, meh.

Warning:
Many of the protected 18650 batteries from DX are bigger than others and will not fit some flashlights.
Other sizes also.
I even had an Ultrafire 14500 that will not fit the Ultrafire 14500 charger I bought for it. No problem with AW 14500.

I have 2 protected ultrafire 14500s that I bought to use in my Quark AA. The plastic wrapping sort of flares at the negative end, making it impossible to load the cells into the Quark except from the tail end. Won't fit into the LF5XT at all. I finally filed the bottom down on one of them so it would fit the LF5XT battery tube.

I won't ever buy protected ultrafire cells again.

AW batteries are awsome! I just wish them new 2600mAh ones were button tops like the 2200.
