I read this:

The Energiser 2100 NiMh batteries are actually re-badged Sanyo2100 Ni-MH's, so we would expect to see a similar performance to the Sanyo 2100's.

Here is the link to his review of the Sanyo 2100 NiMh:

If this is true, are there any reasons why I shouldn't buy the locally obtainable Energizers instead of the more uncommon Sanyos?

Thanks,

Britt

'cause you like to pay more for the same thing? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Seriously though, I've also heard that they are the same thing, (and also that they are the best cells out there). And since Wal-Mart sells them, they should be quite easy to find.

Freakin' Wal-Mart is taking over the world it seems, do they have them in Africa yet Britt? If not, I'm sure it's only a matter of time...

I've never seen a Wal-Mart there. I can't imagine how more than a fraction could afford to shop there.

I ordered one of those La Crosse chargers from Jon. Remains to be seen if I'm bright enough to operate it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No idea if they're actually Sanyos, but I can say that the 2100mAh Energizers are decent batteries.

As for Wal-Mart - they've got a sort of precense in the UK now as well, have got involved somehow with a supermarket chain here called Asda. Only noticed a couple of months ago on the back of one of their trucks "Part of the Wal-Mart group" - cue distinct double-take and me nearly driving into the back of said truck...
