Are there any known U2 mods?

I'm wanting to breath new life into my U2. I'm not a modder, so I would send it to milkyspit, or someone else here on CPF. I know that the U2's regulation circuitry is rather complicated and might make changing LEDs problematic. I was wondering if anyone has accomplished a mod on a U2 for more runtime or brightness?

some one did....I know cuz I've see the thread before, but this is the only result on the U2 I can find, as you said, the circuitry is complicated and changing the LED would require respec on most components on the driver board less theres an equivalent LED you would prefer to replace for tint/performance reasons
