Are there better bulbs for Streamlight's Vulcans?

My Vulcan's light beam is terrible, irregular shaped beam has so many dark spots that it is practically useless. It has been sent back to Streamlight on two occasions, they finally admitted their glass fold on the end of the bulb during manufacture was at fault. Not that this helped me in the least. I've gone through 1/2 dozen bulbs in an attempt to get a better quality beam, all to no avail. Thanks!

Probably not. Vulcan's, like their big brothers, the lightbox are work lights. They can be put on a truck, used once every six months or so for the next ten years and you *KNOW* they are going to work. They put out usable light for 99% of what anybody needs and the shape of the beam is not a big issue.

Most people just use flashlights and I've never heard anyone complain about the beam or lack of lumens. But I'd sure like to mount an edison in mine...

My "free" Vulcan was found on a beach flooded with water and a new battery fixed it.
(I say free because shipping a new charger and battery ran the price to with in $20.00 of a new one.)
