Are these RCR123a batteries safe to use?

I just put a couple Ultrafire 3.6V 880mAh protected rechargeable batts in my MRV and had to tighten the tailcap pretty tight to fit. Upon inspecting the batts I noticed the positive vent caps are flattened somewhat in comparison to other batts.

They seem to work okay in my other flashlights with more clearance. But I'm concerned they may not be safe to use.

What's the consensus?

Subjecting those cells to a force high enough to deform the positive vent cap may have damaged the top crimp seal and PTC mechanism.

When in doubt, err on the side of caution.
