I want to lego a light together using a Malkoff E2HT. I find this head useful and easy to carry on the property.

I also want a low mode, ideally under 15 lumens, 5 would be better.

I want it to run on 14500s or 16340s, ideally just one. Long run time isn't a major priority. 16650 could be an option.

I'd prefer a clicky alone, or a bezel control with clicky.

I'm trying to decipher all the Surefire options and where they contain their low/ high resistors.

I have a LX2 and it makes a low/ high but the low is too high with the E2HT because it wasn't designed for that level of output.

Some of the newer surefires have clicky switches that allow high to low, but is the resistor in the tailcap or the head? (E2D defender ultra)

Surefires with bezel controlled low/ high ( tactician) i would imagine contain the hi/low in the head. I need an expert to verify.

I'm looking for more candela than the surefires offer, hence the E2HT Malkoff head.

I'd like to avoid the M61 head on a e-series body configuration, going for slimness.

I hope I am being clear, and look forward to comments/ suggestions.

Thank you in advance.

I don't believe that you will be able to mod the Malkoff E2HT head and an E Series body is basically an aluminium tube with threads at either end.

That leaves you with the switch, I cannot recall anyone mentioning that they have been able to modify an LX2 switch other than converting it to a McClicky, which obviously wouldn't provide two output levels.

The resistor in the LX2 tailcap could possibly be changed to a higher vaue for lower output on low mode.

I appreciate the feedback. I have been messing with the LX2 I have and just bit the bullet on a new Surefire light with gas pedal. I will do some tinkering and see what I come up with.
