Sold/Expired AUCTION!!! - CPF Benefit

Does the turtle run on Primaries or Rechargeables...What size?

Wait a minute, 100 years?? Could be solar powered I suppose 😀 😀

:tsk: no no no....it runs off water.......thats why it's such a great dive light.😀

Congrats to who ever wins, one day i'll win the lottery and get a light like this.:sigh: But this generosity is awesome Greta and McGizmo :twothumbs

That's right. Something with the motion of the waves that generates power. Zero emissions too...pretty cool

:twothumbs for such a generous offer!

So what's the story on the porcupine body? At first glance I thought it was a really well done pineapple...that thing looks great!!

The body is a very special one. It is from the L6:

This body is very special with an incredible machining. PK said that it took them a long time to figure it out. Look at the dynamics of the grooves ... they are tubes in fact, narrower at the top. This thing is an incredible masterpiece of design and machining.

PEU's pineapple is a copy of this design. A copy that is nice, but it can't meet the complexity and skill of the L6P body.

thanks Bernie.

Arghh! I some how lost a complete post I had composed so this is a "take 2"

I figured the most applicable light I have to compare to the PK2 is a HD45 with a high flux 5W Luxeon LED.

The illuminated area is my back yard and although there was a very clear sky and full moon last night, I took these shots before the moon had risen enough to provide any direct illumination of the yard. The yard was dark to my eyes and both lights provided more than adequate light when on. I picked an exposure setting that was reasonable for the spot beam of the HD45 which is the first beam shot:

HD45-Beam.jpg

Next is the PK2:

PK2-Beam.jpg

You can see that the very wide angle spill of the PK2 provided plenty of light for the foreground up to the target wall which is approximately 33' away from the lights. The spot from the PK2 is overkill for this distance.

When there is any moisture in the air, the PK2 is an impressive light saber but the sky last night was quite clear and I had to extend the exposure to get the beam shaft to reveal itself:

PK2-BeamShaft.jpg

The exposure was long enough to allow the spill portion of the beam to illuminate the trees and fence as you can see. There is a bug trail in the shaft also indicating the extended exposure time.

The 4" diameter, relatively long focal length reflector of the PK2 allows it to generate a beam that smaller reflectors simply can't do.

I don't know if these beam shots are of any value or interest here but I figured I should at least give evidence that the PK2 does produce a beam! :nana:

In regards to run time. Yes the PK2 has a run time and your guess as to what it might be is probably as good as mine. :welcome:

:wow:

Carrying a $50 light instead of $1500 light doesn't make us any less of a flashaholic, friend....it just means we don't have a $1500 conversation piece to sit on our mantles... :nana: :grin2:

To the person who wins this auction, they will have a very unique piece of flashlight memorabilia for sure, and I hope they love it!

Hey McGizmo, where is the pocket clip on that thing? :grin2:
Probably took it off and filled the holes with Bondo....

I contemplated banding a stainless steel ruler to the head with some duct tape to serve as a clip for it but I was advised to seek a patent prior to publicly disclosing the idea. :nana:

Actually the light works well with a lanyard.
