Hello All,
Thank you for a great forum.
I am about to receive a JetBeam BC40, which can run on 4 CR123s or 2 18650s. I am going to order some protected AW 18650s and a Pila charger (based on all of the positive discussion on this forum). I see that AW makes several different capacities, but it appears that only the 2200 mAh is a button-top. My questions are:
1. Will flat-top AWs work in the BC40? I understand there are some raised dots to ensure battery to battery contact in series applications, but I am imagining the mechanical polarity proetection found in some devices (possibly the BC40) would prevent proper contact with flat top batteries.
2. Even if the flat-tops are OK in the BC 40, I would like the batteries to be sutiable for other flashlights that I may acquire in the future. Am I better off with button-tops to ensure maximum compatability for other lights?
Your assistance is greatly apprecaited.
Regards,
Scott Smith
