Re: Pila 150S bodies (E series compatible)

Britt,

That's what I'm running your Aleph III on. You should have seen the cops drooling at the court house as they compared their little rechargeable Streamlights to it.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yellowlaugh.gif That 38mm reflector Aleph 3 is stunning, isn't it? I hope some of those fellahs have you build some lights for them, Tony.

I put your Chop'd KL1 on the BE1 with a McE2S switch and am running it on one of JSBurly's R123 cells. Very compact with lots of checkering and no clip, which is how I like them.

I would like to have an "E to M" stepup adapter for the BE3 and BE4 so that I could run the M3T and M4 heads on them.

HgRyU, I finally got around to refunding the difference for your order change of BE2 HA nat to BE1.5 HA nat.

Yep, I am back from my vacation but no, unfortunately there is nothing new to report. I've just called the anodisers and they are doing them right now, or so they say. It's pretty pathetic that they haven't done them yet. I certainly won't be going back to them again.

The reason I've been slack at updating is that I'll be moving to England. My girlfriend has got an international assignment there for a couple of years and they want her to start ASAP. I'm leaving in a couple of weeks for a visit and reconnaisance but I'm not relocating until April/May next year. I'm going to get these bodies finished and shipped before I leave. I just have to. So, I am going to hound the slackers until they are done seeing as they just don't appear to be doing anything with them.

In terms of my next project, the machine shop is also being extremely slow. I was meant to have the prototype 3 weeks ago and the whole batch machined by now but I have nothing yet. This means that I have an extremely slim chance of getting them done before Christmas /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Please update the STOCK LEVELS and ORDER STATUS on page 1. I sent PayPal several weeks ago and haven't heard back yet whether you have the parts I ordered. Thanks.

nikon, sorry for not responding earlier /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif Your order is locked in and there will be parts available for your order as soon I get them back from the anodisers.

Balrog,

The combination of the slow anodizers and your impending trip have me concerned about the completion of the bodies. The anodizers may not respond to the urgency of the situation and through no fault of yours we may not receive our orders.

Am I being unduly negative or just realistic?

brightnorm, you are being unduly reaslitic /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif If I don't get them all back from the anodisers with time to ship them, then I do have a few options. I can get an unemployed friend to do the o-ring fitting, silicon greasing, packing and shipping whilst I'm in the UK. Or I can get the bodies sent over to the UK and take the o-rings and grease with me and ship them from there, or I can give people refunds. That last option is always open to anyone at any time. However, read on...

Okay, I have picked up two thirds of the remainder of the bodies from the anodisers. They had a power outage there last night and when the power came back on they only got 2 out of 3 phases back and they smoked all their electrical motors /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif I'm not sure when that last third will be ready, or why they even need motors to do the anodising. I'm chasing them up on getting a final date for the last lot that require anodising.

In the meantime I will put on the o-rings and silicon grease then start packing and shipping the ones that I have. I'll have to do a count up to see if I can meet everyone's order for people that have prepaid.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/caution.gif News flash! I have been told by the anodisers that the remaining bodies will be finished by monday. So, looks like I should get them all shipped out and delivered before /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/santa.gif after all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just a note to say that I really like my 1.5e body. I am using it to run a Pila 150s instead of 2 CR123s for my L4. Works great and is shorter than the standard L4 setup.

Thanks for all your time and effort!

Erik.
