My sources tell me that the congress is quietly getting ready to ban private ownership of super bright flashlights. I assume this will apply to systems like the plasma-beam, maxa-beam, etc.. Perhaps even the new Sure-fire lights. The use of bright lights to avoid lethal force is getting more popular, so maybe someone is afraid civilans will use the same tactics. It is also possible that someone is afraid that a aircrft will be blinded by one or more ground based lights.
We need to ask our representatives to not take away our right to own powerful flashlights.

Law 17 !!!

Welcome, glad to have you on board

This sounds absolutely ridiculous. Are you sure that that's true - I mean it sounds too ridiculous ......

My 110,000 Lumen (For 3 seconds only ...... ) Meggaflash bulb would presumably be banned too, unless I had a *Photographers License* !
[I'm told that at short range, this will thoroughly disorientate and cause loss of vision for 20 minutes. Or light up a whole football Stadium, whatever.]

People, this shy and retiring chap is the man behind the Plasma Beam. He will not give autographs, don't even ask.

Any news on when the new Plasma Beam version will be out ?

sincerely,
lightlover

On The Other Hand:

Dear Steve,
(May I call you Steve ? )
I appreciate that the Plasma Beam is a very expensive item. However, it is such a special light, and a dreamlist item for many (every) CPF member, that I wonder if ...... (No, I can't ask ! ) ...... (Yes, jump at the opportunity ! ).

I wonder if it would be at all possible to review an evaluation copy ? Send it to me, and then I'll send it on to a proper reviewer !

Thank you for your patience,
Jahn

This news came to me from my people in Europe who are in the anti-terrorist community. Of-course I hope this is not true, however we are in a strange time and there are those who fear advances in this technology. I hope that my post will help stop any effort to impose limits.

I'd hate to think I'd have to bag up my UKE Light Cannon and my 12mW green laser pointer and hide them in the toilet tank everytime I heard a nock at the door.

That kind of legislation just plain chickensh*t, if you ask me.

when the government can't get their head straight, they have to(I think it's listed in a government rulebook

) point the finger at something/somebody, I guess that's the way thing goes
