Basic Surefire EL-2 question

I purchased a new EL-2 thinking it had the dual output head and it does not. On the Surefire website they offer a KX-2 conversion head with the dual output from the KL-1. I have a KX-2...but, no dual output.

Did they have an early run with KX-2 on the head, but single output?

That's what it seems.

The E2L did indeed ship with a single-level (45 lumen) KX2 head before the current two-level (3/60 lumen) version was introduced.

There's nothing wrong with your KX2, it's just an early version

The single mode Is actually preferred by many CPFers, including me.

And if you really want a dual mode I suspect you could find a potential trade or pick one up on the marketplace - they turn up every so often - and sell the single mode as it is popular (and relatively scarce).

That is one nice thing about Surefire lights is that there is almost always a demand for individual parts.
