just recieved my new fenix...now im shopping for some good batteries,,,looong run times with power ...anything ? nimh or lithiums ...have to be rechargeable though,,,,thanks
The energizer lithiums will give you the best runtimes. I like to use NiMh AA's in my L2D. They give runtimes and brightness between Alkaline and Lithium batteries. They can be recharged hundred of times. I have been getting great service form the Rayovac Hybrid 2300mAh NiMh AA's.
I hate to produce unnecessary waste, so I vote for Ni-Mhs. Its even cheaper on the long run.
Get some eneeloope type. Right, they are labeled with lower number, but I did some testing the last weeks and all of my good (there are always very bad ones together with good) "2400"-"2800" Ni-Mhs are 2200 at best fresh from the charger. The 2100 titanium power enduro are 2000.
If used within one week, the Ni-Mhs are still better, but then the long lasting rechargeables win.
I switched to them in nearly all of my lights.
PS: my charger shows the mA that come out of the batts, when discharging.
PPS: above link does not show any higher brightness for lithiums in an L2D and that runtime increase does not cover cost and pollution imho.
+1 for the Sanyo Eneloop or the Rayovac Hybrid NiMh AA batteries. Especially good if you use your light often.
I use the Sanyoo Eneloop rechargeables for regular use, but also have several packs of the Energizer e2 Lithiums on hand in case of extended power outages.
thanks,,,great light ...was edcing my mini mag....but recieved the fenix today,,,my new favorite,,,,,carrying it everywhere,,,not even noticeable,,,very light weight,,,,love it,,,
I have 2 x L2D-CE as my bike lights and I use freshly charged Sanyo NiMH (2700mAh). However when we go away on holiday without taking the charger, I would carry another set of Sanyo Eneloop which hold the juice a bit longer.
