I'm sure almost everyone on this forum has had this problem, and things are getting critical for me now, so I'm hoping for some solution(s). I have batteries everywhere, in various states of charge, and it is becoming very difficult to contain them in some good way. How do you do it? What do you do with partially discharged alkalines, and how do you keep them organized by their state of charge? I try to keep all of my rechargeables fully charged, but keeping them together in their "lots" can be quite a challenge. I am finding batteries that I had purchased and forgotten about, but then I can't find batteries when I want them. I'm getting desperate--I need some good advice on battery organization and storage. Please.

I like this simple Battery Daddy. Electronic (non-flashlight) batteries go on the left, and flashlight batteries go on the right. Charged? Put them + side up. Discharged? Put them - side up.

Well, it would be a start...
Ummm, I'm talking about a lot more batteries, packages of batteries and loose batteries. I'm thinking more along the lines of a Pelican suitcase-type container, but cheaper.

I guess it depends on how many boxes you are talking about. Harbor Freight (in our area) has some less expensive Pelican-type cases you could check out. You could also consider hardware storage containers. Wal-Mart has some Hart brand ones that seem pretty sturdy, but less expensive than my Milwaukee Containers or Festool Systainers. The Ridgid ones seem pretty decent as well. The benefit of those is they are stackable.

Let's see what other members have done. I'm really curious, because I know there are members here that are prepared for prolonged power outages and have tons of flashlights that they have batteries for. I wouldn't be surprised if some have outbuildings or box trailers full of batteries.

I use the Battery Daddy too. I use it for my "new batteries" (Alkaline, nimh, etc...). I categorize partially depleted cells of all varieties into a different storage container so that I may use them up with my Battery Vampire set ups. Works for me.

I recently bought a Nitecore MT2A Pro that comes with a 14100 battery. I also bought a spare battery but could not find any storage/travel cases of the right size. Eventually I bought a JJC Moistureproof Battery Case off Amazon that was designed for 8 x AA batteries. I removed one of the central dividers with some SAK scissors. It just took seconds as the liner is soft (maybe silicone?). The liner comes out so can easily be manipulated to get a neat cut.

I have an idea for you...make a battery size sorter, and link it directly to a size specific hopper for a battery howitzer potato cannon.

Can't be any more depraved than using depleted rounds for the gau8

I don't use alkaline anymore, just rechargeable.
Sorry for the mess.
My 18650, 14500, 14400 and larger i keep them in separate battery bags, usually in backpacks.

I have a plastic box in a drawer that I keep all my lithium ion cells in. Just randomly with no organization. They're all mostly at storage charge.
I don't keep any form of alkaline cells
Nimh are in another basket in another drawer in the kitchen, also without organization. Lol.
When I need a cell, I just grab one, as they all do basically the same job

Link please. Those look good
Probably not the exact same model, but I am looking at something very similar on Ebay:

Other models from the same seller:

A company by the name of MTM Caseguard used to make plastic cartridge boxes for ammo reloaders, and I wonder if they wouldn't work for certain battery sizes. I need to check into that.

I think the steel ammo boxes would be sturdy enough, but a bit on the heavy side. Maybe the old .30 caliber narrow box would be light enough. Plastic would be much lighter, and likely strong enough.
