Unless that one cell was 3V it wouldn't work. The minimun input voltage on a bb is 1.6V. But since the bb500 would draw less current it would have longer runtime.

Yes. It's a 123 batt. What would be the brightness differance? Thank you.

I think that the difference in brightness would not really be noticeable.
