I have a 2 month old BC-700 charger. The second slot dose not charge. All three other slots work fine. I have tested it with different batteries, left it uncharged for about an hour, etc.
Basically, when I stick a battery into that slot only, and set it to charge at 500ma, the voltage does not go up. Rather, the voltage stays about the same (or drops by .01 or .02), and the battery stays cool. However, the meter (mAh) still goes up, the timer still counts, etc.
The problem started yesterday, and basically I feel that the charger thinks it's charging the battery, but no current is actually sent into the battery. The charger does read Full after a while (I'm not sure if this is just a auto shutoff timer). When set to Discharge, it works without a problem (but when it switches to discharge, it quickly charges to 1.25 V within a minute, and stays there for a long time. Comparatively, the average charge voltage should be about 1.30 V
Odd thing is this: Yesterday when I had a AAA battery in that channel and set to refresh, it would actually refresh the battery and returned about 650mAh (accurate, compared to a previous reading I had). However, it left this AAA battery uncharged (1.23 V) but marked as Full.
Any suggestions?
