Before I go any further, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, not sure where this thread should be posted...

Ok so for my first flashlight, I wanted to buy one from DD shown here:
WOLF-EYES Angel-C(Digital Cree R2 HO) LED Rechargeable Flashlight

The only problem is that I'm not sure if 285 Lumens with 1 x CR123A battery or actually lower power, and how abt the shape, and the store,
my question is if anyone thinks this is actually legit or not. Thanks for the help.

- That flashlight retails for $65, not $117 :caution:
- The manufacturer lists its max output as 200 lumens, not 285

The site is obviously a complete ripoff, and the flashlight is just mediocre (by actual specs), I'd restart your search from scratch.

This are plenty of up to date new products out there that a far superior quality and output wise then the Wolf Eyes model you mentioned.

You could get a Malkoff M61 + MD2 for that sort of money with 265 lumens OTF!! This Malkoff can run rechargables too!

Look at the Quark series, Fenix models also. For the money for the above model, I would be looking at the Ra lights too.

Good luck with your search - do plenty of research before you make a decision. There are more products available than ever before for your consideration.

James....:)

Have a look at the actual specs for that light from the Manufacturer's website and then decide, as correctly stated, there are a whole host of new products out there, for a whole lot less money i could get the MG P-Rocket in neutral white at 700 lumens (even discounting approx 1/3 due to light loss, its still 490 lumens).

Would advise you do more research or fill in the 'Flashlight recommendation checklist' that can be found in the stickies and post it here so that CPF-ers know what your needs and wants are.

Nope, that just makes it clear that the website is clearly overcharging their customers and outright lying about the specifications of their products. They're completely disregarding list prices and manufacturer specifications.

We have a broad range of trusted retailers that can get you a much better light at a much better price, but we'll need to know what it is you're looking for, so as noted above, fill out the checklist and post it here; you'll get tons of very experienced advice and recommendations.

whats up with you and that site? you have a gift cert. to that site?(no offense intended if you like the site, or if in fact have to spend a gift cert there)

support one of the CPF vendors and get a honest deal. check out cpfmp for coupon codes(good deals section), and dealer info.

Please have a look at the Dealers with CPF discounts, off the top of my head, i purchase from:-

4sevens - "CPF8" discount code (free international shipping)
shiningbeam - "cpfuser" discount code (very reasonable shipping)
bugoutgearusa - "CPFJET" for Jetbeam lights

my other lights were from the marketplace or local dealers.

yeah, and what's up with that dinodirect site? their prices are incredibly high

I think DinoDirect is taking you for a ride.

Wolf Eyes Angel C
DinoDirect $117.49
PTS $49.60

Fenix TA20
DinoDirect $93.99
EliteLED $87.95
Battery Junction $87.95
Amazon $87.50

You have to be logged in to CPFMP to see the discount codes linked by hyperloop.

If your discount/credits will get you over $70 off that light, sure..

Wolf-Eyes is known for making just-okay lights at high prices; even if ~$40 is your budget, you could do better

The DinoDirect price includes a charger and 16340 (I assume an "LRB-123 Li-ion" = 16340).

Regardless, it's still not a good deal at the advertised price, and I wouldn't consider it a good deal at $80 OTD.

Why?

Quark, Fenix, O-light, NiteCore, and EagleTac offer similar lights (with a better CPF reputation than Wolf Eyes) for about $55. Another $25 would get you an UltraFire 139 charger (or similar) and a cell or two. These prices don't even take into account the 5-10% discounts available to CPF members at a variety of online retailers.

I know nothing of Wolf Eyes, but I tend to mostly trust the group wisdom here at CPF, and Wolf Eyes never came up when I was asking/searching for a $40-$60 light in that form factor.

Perhaps you should spend your points on something else they sell at Dino, that isn't insanely overpriced.

+1 on above comments about the site being overpriced.

You can get 20% off Surefires at tacticalsupply.com, 20% off Jetbeams at bugoutgearusa.com, 10% off Malkoff's at Malkoffdevices.com and 8% off and free shipping at 4sevens for a variety of lights. There are plenty of other discounts at different sites. I have had good dealings with all the above mentioned sites.

Just look at the websites and use the discount codes listed on the cpf discount page.

Mods, hope listing these sites is alright.

huh? actually i found sth different on other flashlight forum, DD is ok, and some stuffs are really cheap, deserve a try
look at them: RC-C6 High Brightness Focused Q5 LED Flashlight Torch
Adjustable Focus CREE Q3 LED Flashlight Torch
as DD said,
with coupon code"SPF15 ", 15% off on all the flashlights free shipping is attractive, so

A few bucks less on the each of those flood-to-zoomers at DX. Always compare prices between stores...if DD is going to charge me enough for 1 Fenix to buy 2 Fenixes from somewhere else, then I'm sure not buying there...
