Hi all,

I'm wondering if beadblasting LED domes could fix the typical donuts seen in multi-die LEDs ?

I'm also wondering how many lumens would be lost in the process (frosted dome) and if the smoothness of the spill would be affected.

Anyone has tried this already?

I'm just curious
Cheers

I etch the domes of the MC-Es in the DEFT. I use a chemical etchant. There should not be much in the way of lost lumens but it will reduce the intensity and therefore throw of any light.

Boy, your just on top of things to much.. good thing I refreshed after a quick run down the hall.. lol
I saw this and was going to mention that he should check with you because of your success at this.

Shows to go ya what I know, I would have suggested trying some corn starch, then baby powder, maybe baking soda or powder??..

I'm sure there are plenty of list at the proper sites. I saw a demo once and the last procedure was taking the lines off of paper. I seem to remember the used powdered pecan shells. Hmm I could also be way off.. lol

I'm sure it's possible but i'm sure saabluster has it down to a fine science and prolly much safer and controlled.

btw, what's that list looking like?. I need to get signed up while you got those beast tweaked so good.

Ya'll take care
X/BillyD..
