Does the Surefire Z3 have the same kind of beam as the 9P ?
I know that the 9P has no hot spot and I wonder if the Z3 has a hot spot. I am intersted in a 9V Surefire, but I'd like to have one with a hot spot. Your knowledge is appreciated.

I have two C3's, one with the P90, the other with the P91. Both beams are quite oval, and I don't mind as much as I used to.

I have two P90's and a P91. They all have oval beams /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Wonder if the turbo head gives a better beam.

nope, the oval gets worse in the T lamps. i recently tried 2 different lamps. the standard bezel lamps had a fairly oval hotspot up close as well. they get better with distance.

The P90 and P91 won't fit Turbo heads. I only have a 3" turbo head. No KT or SRTH to compare. But the best beam I've seen is the N2/3" Turbo Head combo. Perfectly round, almost pencil beam.

tkl,

Thanks, I guess you just saved me some $$. (OT, I like your sig!)

The T-heads I have used which are the KT 1-2 the 2.5" SRTH the 3" T1 and T2 and the KT-4 and all have nice tight and very round beams. The MN-60 gets a little oval but nothing like the P90. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

JT,

That's why I asked. The most ovalish TurboHead beams I have are from MN15 (I use N2 instead because of this)

Try the N4 and N5 lamps - the N lamps are very round - short thin filaments.
