Oooh, can you share the details of your battery markup methods?
Triangular marks are used batteries from high power LED lights and xenon lights. Low-power LED modules can still be used, so they are marked and used up.

I had 3 boxes that were marked USED. Today I'm
finally down to 1 box and 1 extra cell. Then I can finally open the 72 SF123A pack I got in 2016.

I have had some Duracel 123's stored in a few lights that were well within the 10 year lifespan but all were no longer holding enough voltage to light the light. They came with the light(s) they were stored in. Now figuring there was some kind of fluke parasitic drain thing I tried a pair that was sitting on a shelf and same results.
Point being, if you have Duracel 123's go on and use them up because shelf life may not be what they claim.

If my SF123A cells do that I will send them back after 10 years they should still have 90% charge left. They are 6 years old or more and even the partially used ones still work great. Maybe you had a bad batch
SureFire batteries I've had no issues with at all. Nor Streamlight, Rayovac, Panasonic or Battery Station.
Many of my lights see little use. But I noticed in the last few months the "dead" ones all had china made Duracell batteries in them.

When I was young and the Duracell name was associated with the Mallory company and they built seemingly good products, I had at least some respect for the name. Increasingly these days, I'm starting to sort of 'cringe' a little when I hear / see it. Another once-good name now either dead, sold to the highest third world bidder, &/or making junk (it increasingly seems in this case). Sad.
I don't dismiss Duracell entirely. Matter of fact their 'Merican, Belgian and Japanese made batteries may be just fine. But the ones that were made in China were not. Thing is over their copycat products litter the place so heck they may not even been authentic Duracells that came with Bushnell and other Chinese made lights I bought at WalMart a few years back.

i hated cr123s at first becuase they was so expensive so i couldnt play with my lights as much as i wanted to
My work requires me to be analytical, but I'm putting no thought or analysis into this. It's only a very primitive, involuntary 'cringe', based solely on subconscious response to external stimuli / info. As a %, somewhere up in the nines: when I see that name mentioned on this forum, it is associated with derogatory or negative input. Although it may be a largely unfounded or unjustified response, it's still enough to make me reach for a different product when I'm standing in the store now. That's exactly the kind of thing any good manufacturer least wants to see happen with their name, regardless of the reason.
I instinctively reach for Rayovac for most models but some batteries like coin cell type are only available in Duracell at a lot of stores. If I have a choice in brands of coin cell I go for the lesser priced one.

ingles a grocery store near me used to have sales where 4 aa batts packswas 10 pack for 10 bucks id stock up the d cells was 2 packs units for same price
